# Manage Event

Your guest list isn't locked the moment you hit send. Add people, fix a typo, log the RSVP someone gave you at the grocery store — here's how each part works.

Almost every answer below starts here

1. Log in to Evite
2. Click on your initials or photo in the top right corner
3. Select My Invitations
4. Find your event
5. Click on Manage Event

That's your Event Page dashboard — guest list, RSVP options, messages, all of it. Worth a bookmark once the party's real.

### Before you send

Building the list in the first place.

<details open>

<summary>How do I add guests to my Invitation?</summary>

Five ways, depending on where your list currently lives. All of them sit on the Add Guests page under More ways to add.

* Type email addresses or phone numbers straight into the text box
* Use Past Guest Lists — pull names from an event you've already hosted
* Search Address Book — your saved Evite contacts
* Import from Google — bring in your Google contacts
* Upload File — an Excel spreadsheet

When the list looks right, click Send Now in the top right corner.

Don't skip that last click. If you leave the Add Guests page before sending, your guests are saved but sitting in a pending state — no Invitation goes out.

</details>

<details>

<summary>Can I upload my list from a spreadsheet?</summary>

Yes — if your guest list already lives in Excel, there's no reason to retype it.

1. Go to Add Guests for your Invitation.
2. Select More ways to add.
3. Choose your file and click Upload File.
4. Review the list to make sure everything landed right.
5. Click Send when you're ready.

The upload only works if the file is built like this:

| Column A | First name — plus last name, or several names if you're adding a couple or family under one contact |
| -------- | --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| Column B | Email address (leave blank if you're inviting by phone) |
| Column C | Phone number (leave blank if you're inviting by email) |

Leave out column headers, special characters or symbols, and anything filled in beyond columns A, B, and C.

File still not cooperating? Send the spreadsheet to <support@evite.com> and the team will sort out the formatting and get it uploaded.

<summary>How do I invite a couple or family who share one email address?</summary>

Put all their names in the Guest Name field instead of just one. The Invitation goes to a single inbox, but everyone on it gets named.

1. Go to your Add Guests page.
2. In the Guest Name field, enter everyone you're inviting at that address — *Sam, Jordan & the kids*.
3. Click Add Guest to save them to your pending list.

Already added them under one name? Open Manage Event, click the guest's name and email address, choose to edit, update the name field, and select Save.

Coming soon: individual RSVP tracking per household member, so you'll know exactly who's in and who's out even when the whole family shares one inbox. We'll let you know when it's live.

</details>

<details>

<summary>Can I hide my guest list before I send?</summary>

Yes — you can set it while the Invitation is still a draft.

1. Create your Invitation draft and work through the steps.
2. Go to the Details step.
3. Click Manage Guest Settings under Guest Options.
4. Toggle the private guest list setting on.
5. Select Save.

Guests still get their Invitation and can still RSVP. They just won't see who else is on the list — which is the entire point of a surprise party.

</details>

### After you send

Everything you can still change once Invitations are out.

<details>

<summary>Can I add more guests after I've already sent?</summary>

Yes. Day one or the week before the party — your list stays open.

1. Log in and go to My Invitations.
2. Locate your event on the dashboard.
3. Select Add Guests.
4. Add them however you like — More ways to add has all five options.
5. Click Send Now in the top right corner.

Newly added guests receive the same Invitation your original guests got, event details and RSVP link included.

Before you add someone, give your list a quick look. Double-invites happen to the best hosts.

</details>

<details>

<summary>How do I fix a typo in a guest's email or phone number?</summary>

You can edit guest contact information straight from your guest list, even after the Invitation has gone out.

1. From Manage Event, scroll down and select View Guest List.
2. Find the guest and click on their contact information.
3. Select Edit under their name and contact.
4. Click Save & Resend to save the correction and send to the right address.

One limit: once an Invitation has been delivered and that guest has submitted their RSVP, their contact information is locked.

</details>

<details>

<summary>Can I RSVP for a guest who told me in person?</summary>

Yes. Texted you, called, mentioned it in the pickup line — you can log it yourself.

1. From Manage Event.
2. Find the guest and click their name.
3. Select Edit below the name and email address.
4. Choose their response and guest count.
5. Click Save.

* You can mark a guest attending, not attending, or maybe — the same options they'd see themselves.
* They won't be notified. No awkward "we updated your status" email.
* They can still change their own response later from their original Invitation.
* Invited someone by word of mouth? Add them to your list first, then log their RSVP the same way.

</details>

<details>

<summary>How do I remove a guest?</summary>

On the web, open your guest list from Manage Event, click the guest you want to take off, and choose to remove them.

In the app:

1. Open your Invitation and tap Manage Guests.
2. Find the guest and tap the three dots next to their name.
3. Tap Remove Guest.
4. Tap Yes, I'm sure.

</details>

<details>

<summary>Can I message my guests — or just the ones who haven't answered?</summary>

Both. Venue change, start time shift, what to bring: send it to your whole list or to one slice of it.

1. From Manage Event, select Send Message under Guest Options on the right side of the page.
2. Choose which group you're messaging — everyone, attending, declined, or still no response.
3. Type your message.
4. Select Send.

For one person: open View Guest List, click the arrow by their name, then the message icon below it.

* Each guest receives your message individually — no reply-all situations, and nobody sees anyone else's email address.
* No cap on how many messages you send.
* Messages go out through Evite, but your name is front and center. From you, delivered by us.

</details>

<details>

<summary>Can I download or print my guest list?</summary>

Yes — useful for printing, handing to a co-host, or keeping a record outside the app.

1. Go to My Invitations and find your event.
2. Select Manage Event.
3. Click Export guest list on the right side of the page.

Each entry includes the guest's name, email address and/or phone number, RSVP status, number in their party, and any comment they left when they responded.

</details>

### Headcount & privacy

Limits, plus-ones, and who gets to see the list.

<details>

<summary>How many guests can I invite?</summary>

| Free and Premium Invitations | Up to 750 guests |
| ---------------------------- | --------------------------------- |
| Evite Pro | Up to 2,500 guests per Invitation |

If your gathering has outgrown the first number, Evite Pro is the upgrade that fixes it.

</details>

<details>

<summary>Can I cap RSVPs at my venue's capacity?</summary>

Yes. There's no RSVP limit by default, but if your space holds what it holds, set a maximum from your Manage Event page — responses close once you hit your number.

</details>

<details>

<summary>Can I limit how many plus-ones each guest brings?</summary>

Yes, as long as guests are RSVPing with a party size.

1. Go to My Invitations and find your event.
2. Select Manage Event.
3. Select RSVP Options on the right side of the page.
4. Set your number in Max number of additional guests per RSVP — up to +9.
5. Click Save.

Two different settings, two different jobs. The plus-ones limit caps how many extras *each* guest can bring, and it applies to your whole list — you can't set a different number for different guests. Max capacity is what closes RSVPs once your *total* headcount is reached.

</details>

<details>

<summary>Can I hide or show my guest list after sending?</summary>

Yes, and you can switch it back. The change takes effect immediately.

1. Go to My Invitations and select Manage Event on your Invitation.
2. Scroll down on the right side and click RSVP Options under Event Settings.
3. Select your preferred guest list privacy setting.
4. Click Save.

* Private: only you see names and RSVP statuses. Guests see their own response and nothing more. Good for surprise parties, smaller gatherings, and guests who'd rather keep a low profile.
* Visible: a public list can actually lift your RSVP rate — people commit faster when they see who else is in.
* As the host, you always see the full list when you view the Invitation, whichever setting you choose.
* Either way, guest email addresses and phone numbers stay private. Always.

### When something looks off

Missing guests, red flags, and people whose email you don't have.

<details>

<summary>I added a guest, but they're not on my list</summary>

Two usual culprits: the invitation never finished sending, or they're already there under a different name.

The Invitation didn't go out yet. If you left the Add Guests page before that final step, your guests were saved but not sent — they're pending, waiting on you.

1. Go to My Invitations.
2. Select Add Guests.
3. Your saved guests are sitting right there.
4. Select Send Invitation to finish the job.

They're on the list under the wrong name. Before you add anyone twice, search by email address or phone number — *not* by name. A misspelled name won't turn up in a name search.

1. Go to My Invitations and select Manage Event.
2. Search by email address or phone number.

If they surface, select the edit option to fix the spelling. Cleaner list going forward.

Shared your event as a link by text, email, or social? Those guests won't appear on your list until after they RSVP. Don't read a short list as a broken one.

</details>

<details>

<summary>What does Undelivered mean next to a guest?</summary>

Their Invitation didn't reach the inbox. Undelivered guests sit at the top of your list, highlighted in red, so they're easy to spot and fix.

Common reasons:

* A typo or wrong domain in the email address
* The address is no longer active
* Their Evite account is tied to an old email address, which bounces the Invitation
* It's a school or corporate address — those filters block more aggressively
* A temporary outage at that email domain
* That guest has opted out of Evite communication

To fix it: from Manage Event, find the undelivered guest and select the edit option next to their name. Correct the email address or swap in a phone number, then resend. No alternate address? Remove them from the list and send them the shareable link directly.

Got an undeliverable notice but your list looks clean? Disregard it. If no guests show as undelivered, that notification went out in error — your Invitations landed.

</details>

<details>

<summary>I don't have someone's email or number. Can I still invite them?</summary>

Yes — use your shareable link. One link, sent anywhere, and guests can view the event and RSVP without a personal Invitation.

1. Go to My Invitations and find your event.
2. Click Manage Event.
3. Click Copy Link.

* Send it by text, social, or personal email — wherever your guests actually are.
* Don't copy the URL from your browser's address bar. That's your host link, not the guest link. Use Copy Link from your dashboard.
* Guests you've already added individually can't use the shareable link — it won't work for them.
* Link guests won't appear on your guest list until they RSVP.

</details>

### Still stuck on something?

If your list won't behave — a file that won't upload, a guest who won't appear, a number that looks wrong — email <support@evite.com> and we'll take it from there.
